The Office of University Trademarks vigilantly monitors its marks to ensure authorized and compliant use and actively pursues legal action against those who use the marks without authorization.

    The New School Trademarks

The New School’s trademarks include the logos and wordmarks presented in The New School’s Brand Guidelines and Gnarls the Narwhal Guidelines. Follow these guidelines to ensure proper use of the trademarks. Any unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

    The New School’s Brand Guidelines

The New School’s Brand Guidelines provide the tools you need to join in our mission of conveying the depth, breadth, and power of what The New School brings to education and to our society. It is important to uphold our brand’s values. The guide explains the intent behind the elements of our visual identity. Gnarls the Narwhal Guidelines

Gnarls the Narwhal is the official mascot of the university and has become a recognizable and whimsical symbol of our community. We want to continue to build our presence through consistent use of the mascot, conceived in the context of The New School’s existing brand. This design is intended to embody the spirit, experience, and collective identity of the New School community in a way our creative, bold, impassioned students can directly relate to.
