  • The New School’s Advising staff recognize the diversity of the student population at Parsons Paris, the majority of which is international. Staff members approach students’ academic issues holistically, recognizing that a variety of factors influence scholastic performance. Our overarching objectives are to provide accurate, timely information and create a supportive environment for students making academic decisions, such as selecting a major, creating a study plan, and choosing study abroad or taking a leave of absence

    New Students

All undergraduate and graduate Parsons Paris students are assigned an academic advisor, so you will have a staff member to guide you throughout your academic journey and help you integrate your scholarly interests, passions, and career goals. This integrated academic and career support model ensures that your individual needs are met.

Advising staff take a personalized, one-on-one approach, combining the resources of our Student Success office, which includes Student Life (immigration, housing, and health) and career advisors. Advising staff are your first points of contact and play an invaluable role assisting you throughout your time on campus—and helping you plan for the future.

Early engagement with your academic advisor will help you adjust to life at The New School and in Paris. Academic advisors connect with students arriving in the fall semester from mid-June and with students arriving in the spring semester from mid-October.

    Current Students

Advisors have extensive knowledge of campus resources and can show you how to navigate university systems and procedures. They also act as liaisons between you and Student Success staff and acquaint you with procedures for communicating with faculty and other academic leadership when policy questions regarding matters such as academic integrity, grade appeals, and academic standing arise. You are assigned to an advisor on the basis of your program, year of study, and, in some cases, your last name. You can find your advisor's name, office location, and photo; a brief biography; and contact information through Starfish.
