• Information For Parents & Family Members

  • Family Hero Image
  • Parents and families are an important part of the New School community. That’s why we want to help you stay engaged in the academic process and connected to The New School. Whether your student is joining The New School straight out of high school, is beginning their New School journey after transferring from another institution, or has been attending The New School for one or more semesters, we know that our parents and family members want to be informed. There are several ways for our parents and family members to engage with our community:

    • Family members of new undergraduate students are invited to attend Family Orientation at the start of their student’s first term.
    • Sign up for our monthly family newsletter and stay in touch with us at families@newschool.edu.
    • Attend our annual Family Weekend, typically held each October.
    • Join The New School for both in-person and online public programs.
    • Participate in the Parent and Family Council.
    • Join us for virtual town halls each semester.
    • Attend your student’s Commencement ceremonies to celebrate their transition into New School alumni.
