The Institute for Philosophy and the New Humanities (IPNH) convenes graduate students and distinguished scholars from The New School, the University of Bonn (Germany), and other institutions for five-day intensive seminars on pressing questions in contemporary philosophy and the humanities.

Seminars are held during the fall semester, with additional seminar work taking place in the spring. The first seminar, Artificial Intelligence and the Human, will be held in fall 2020, and the second, Objectivity in the Humanities, will follow in fall 2021.

Housed in The New School for Social Research (NSSR), the Institute for Philosophy and the New Humanities was established with generous assistance from the Udo Keller Foundation and with the collaboration of Markus Gabriel, chair of epistemology and modern and contemporary philosophy and director of the International Centre for Philosophy at the University of Bonn; Zed Adams, associate professor of philosophy at NSSR; and Paul Kottman, professor of comparative literature and chair of Liberal Studies at NSSR.
