We recommend that all members of our community review the university’s Spring 2021 Return to Campus Plan for guidelines that
will help ensure safety when an on-campus presence is necessary.
Please note: Students who have had COVID-19 within 90 days of travel do not need to quarantine upon returning to campus or their living space.
Spring Break Travel Requirements
Health and government officials continue to strongly urge people to avoid non-essential travel, but if travel cannot be avoided, please review the Spring Break Travel Guide for information about the university's testing and quarantine requirements for returning to campus.
Entering New York State
All students, faculty and staff traveling to campus from outside New York after spending more than 24 hours in a U.S. state other than PA, NJ, CT, MA and VT, or in a CDC Level 2 or Level 3 country, are required to follow the guidelines in the New York State travel advisory.
If individuals are returning from states with significant community spread, there may be a required quarantine period.
Students who are subject to this advisory should submit their COVID-19 test results to Student Health Services (SHS) and quarantine until they receive written clearance.
If you are returning from a contiguous state (PA, NJ, CT, MA and VT), you are not subject to this advisory.
International Travel to New York
If you are a new international student, please visit the International Student and Scholar Services website to learn about regulations related to
entering the U.S. for the spring semester, international student check-in, and other important information.
F-1 and J-1 students traveling from outside of the United States are strongly encouraged to also take the following steps:
Travel During the Semester
We urge students to follow the extensive guidance from health and government officials when considering travel outside of New York during the semester, including during university breaks. In the event students must travel, they are subject to the New York State COVID-19 guidelines regarding travel, testing and quarantine.
